Divine takes centre stage with The Ambassador Theatre Group

Divine, the leading Fairtrade chocolate, is delighted to announce that you will now be able to have a Divine experience as well as watching a great show at all 23 of the Ambassador Theatre Group venues across the UK.

All four of Divine’s 45g bars – Milk Chocolate, Dark 70% Chocolate, Orange Milk Chocolate and White Chocolate – are now available as a delicious theatre-going treat from the Savoy and Piccadilly Theatres in London to the Theatre Royal up in Glasgow.  Divine Fairtrade chocolate, which is also co-owned by the farmers who supply the cocoa, has been selected by The Ambassador Theatre Group as part of their policy to offer Fairtrade products and its forthcoming eco-friendly strategy.

Colin Chester, Group Head of Retail Services at The Ambassador Theatre Group, says, “Divine is an excellent product which will offer our theatre-goers an elegant treat, with the extra appeal of the brand’s strong ethical credentials.  The Ambassador Theatre Group has committed to sourcing quality Fairtrade products and demonstrating our support for the movement to guarantee a better deal for producers in developing countries.”

Many of the Group’s venues are also available for events, conferences and meetings, and the Divine range will be on offer for these private functions too.

Divine Chocolate is co-owned by the 45000 members of the Kuapa Kokoo cooperative in Ghana, and so as well as receiving the Fairtrade price for their cocoa, they share Divine’s profits too.  Divine is delighted that, with these exciting new opportunities to find and sample Divine chocolate, more and more chocolate lovers are discovering a real Divine experience.

• All Divine products carry the Fairtrade Mark. This is an independent guarantee certified by the Fairtrade Foundation that the ingredients are sourced under internationally agreed fair trade terms and conditions. These include a guaranteed, secure minimum price, an extra social premium payment for the farmers to invest in their own community programmes, long term trading contracts, decent health and safety conditions – all aimed at empowering farmers to improve their own living standards and prospects for the future.

• Divine Chocolate has won a number of prestigious awards.  These include Good Housekeeping’s Favourite Fairtrade Product 2008 and Best Food Brand in the SHE magazine Ethical Awards 2007.  Divine Chocolate Ltd was awarded Best Social Enterprise 2007 at the Enterprising Solutions awards run by the Office of the Third Sector.

• The UK chocolate market alone is worth approximately £3.4 billion a year: if Fairtrade products can capture even a small proportion of that market, producers in developing countries gain real benefits.
